Installation Guidelines
Install the detector in a convenient weatherproof location as close to the loop as possible. Choose an installation location away from heat sources and maintain at least 10mm distance from other devices. A proper loop configuration and detector installation ensures reliable inductive loop detection system performance. Key loop parameters include loop figure, size, turns, and installation methods.
Operation & Indicators
During tuning, both green Channel LED and red Power LED illuminate for approximately 2 seconds, then the green LED turns off. A flashing Channel LED indicates a loop fault. The green Channel LED illuminates when a vehicle is detected passing over the inductive loop. The red Power LED remains on continuously to indicate unit power status.
Sensitivity Configuration
The detector's sensitivity allows selective response to inductance changes necessary for output generation. Four sensitivity selections are available and configured using DIP3 and DIP4 switches.
Automatic Sensitivity Boost
Activated via DIP5 switch: OFF - Disabled, ON - Enabled. When enabled, sensitivity boosts to maximum upon vehicle detection and maintains this level during vehicle presence over the loop. Sensitivity reverts to pre-selected level when vehicle departs.
Filter Mode
To eliminate environmental interference, activate filter mode by setting DIP6 Switch to "ON". In filter mode, detector reaction time is delayed and sensitivity is reduced. Typically, filter mode is disabled (DIP6 Switch to "OFF").
Important: If the detector isn't functioning normally, first check the loop and wiring, then adjust frequency or sensitivity settings. Finally, try activating filter mode if issues persist.
Output Relay Functions
Relay 2 (Pulse Output): With DIP7 "OFF", relay energizes (Pin3-Pin4 shorted) for 500ms when vehicle passes over loop. With DIP7 "ON", relay energizes for 500ms when vehicle departs loop.
Relay 1 (Presence Output): Energizes (Pin5-Pin6 shorted) when vehicle is detected and remains active until vehicle departs.
Presence Time Settings
Presence time can be set to permanent or limited mode. Configure with DIP8 Switch: OFF - Limited Presence (5 minutes), ON - Permanent Presence. In permanent presence mode, the detector continuously compensates for environmental changes during vehicle presence.
Reset Function
The detector automatically tunes to the connected inductive loop when power is applied. To retune the detector after switch changes or relocation, momentarily operate the RESET switch to initiate the automatic tuning cycle.
