Single Channel Inductive Loop Vehicle Detector 4.5VA
High Temperature Stability Single Channel AC/DC Voltage Vehicle Loop Detector
Loop detectors are essential components for vehicle detection in various applications including access monitoring, security systems, door and gate control mechanisms, barrier operations, traffic light systems in parking facilities, and card dispenser activation.
Installation Guidelines
The detector must be installed in a convenient weatherproof location as close to the loop as possible. Choose an installation location away from heat sources and maintain a minimum distance of 10mm from other devices (do not mount directly against cabinet walls).
Proper loop configuration and detector installation are critical for successful inductive loop detection system operation. Key loop parameters include loop geometry, size, number of turns, and installation methods (detailed in the "Loop installation guide").
Wiring Diagram
Operation and Indicators
- During tuning: Green Channel LED and red Power LED illuminate for approximately 2 seconds, then green LED turns off
- Loop fault indication: Green Channel LED flashes when a fault is detected
- Vehicle detection: Green Channel LED illuminates when a vehicle passes over the inductive loop
- Power status: Red Power LED remains illuminated to indicate unit is powered
Frequency Adjustment
Frequency can be adjusted to eliminate interference between neighboring wire loops or loop detectors.
Sensitivity Settings
The detector's sensitivity allows selective response to inductance changes necessary to produce an output. Four sensitivity selections are available and configured using DIP3 and DIP4 switches.
Automatic Sensitivity Boost
Enabled via DIP5 switch: OFF - Disabled, ON - Enabled. When activated, sensitivity boosts to maximum during vehicle detection and maintains this level while the vehicle remains over the loop. Sensitivity returns to pre-selected level when the vehicle departs.
Filter Mode
Activated by setting DIP6 Switch to "ON" to eliminate interference in challenging environments. In filter mode, reaction time is delayed and sensitivity is reduced. Typically disabled by setting DIP6 Switch to "OFF".
Attention: If the detector isn't functioning normally, first check the loop and wiring, then adjust frequency or sensitivity settings. Finally, try activating filter mode if issues persist.
Output Relay Configuration
Relay2 (Pulse Output): DIP7 OFF - Relay energizes (Pin3-Pin4 shorted) for 500ms when vehicle passes over loop. DIP7 ON - Relay energizes (Pin3-Pin4 shorted) for 500ms when vehicle departs loop.
Relay1 (Presence Output): Relay energizes (Pin5-Pin6 shorted) when vehicle is detected and remains energized until vehicle departs.
Presence Time Settings
Configured via DIP8 Switch: OFF - Limited Presence (5 minutes), ON - Permanent Presence. In permanent presence mode, the detector continuously compensates for environmental changes while a vehicle is present.
Reset Function
The detector automatically tunes to the connected inductive loop when power is applied. For retuning after switch changes or relocation, momentary operation of the RESET switch initiates the automatic tuning cycle.
